I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to compete provincially in a programming contest with some of my classmates. The competition was for all engineers accross Ontario. In the programming contest category with twelve teams, our group was able to finish second.

Pat suggested that we designed this train traffic control simulator using node and node webkit to create an executable for submission. We were given a list of train movement data and specific timesamps. We were to create control rules to stop or slow the trains based on how close trains on a track were getting and the speed that they were travelling at. Pat did an excellent job leading this team and coaching us through our first taste of Node development.

I'd like to sincerly thank Rob Cole, Kevin Ho, and Pat Smuk for coming together with me and making this happen at 3AM. This hackathon was a great time and I can't wait untill we can do another one.
